[ 1 ] California bases Perplexity AI has raised $73.6 Million in Series B funding. Perplexity AI is a search engine built on Large Language Model. In the latest round it was valued at $520 Million. The funding was led by IVP and investors in the latest round included Nvidia and Jeff Bezos.
[ 2 ] Character.ai is a platform that offers AI-driven conversations, allowing users to engage with millions of AI personas, including those based on famous figures like Harry Potter, Elon Musk, and Beyoncé . The platform's 'Psychologist' bot assists users in navigating emotional challenges and bridging the gap between technology and mental health. Created by Sam Zaia, has gained popularity, with over 78 million messages exchanged since its inception.
[ 3 ] Intel has announced a new company Articul8 focused on fullstack Generative AI software. Articul8 is a hardware agnostic platform & Dr Arun Subramaniyan is leading the spin-off company as its CEO.
[ 4 ] OpenAI is expected to launch GPT Store in the second week of January . It is sending emails to developers to make their GPTs public. GPT Store platform will allow developers to monetize their customised agents.
[ 5 ] Nabla AI is a Paris-based startup that has developed an AI copilot for doctors and other medical staff. Nabla AI has decided to shift from proprietary AI to open source models due to concerns about control and compatibility with healthcare. The company was initially built on GPT-4 . It has raised an additional $24 Million in its latest round of funding and will be refining it models using platforms such as Llama-2 instead of more general purpose models.
